Do some people need to think that humans know the answer to everything and get uncomfortable with the truth?

Seriously? Likened to thumb sucking, gees man that rough, where's the love! Granted the brain is possibly the most complicated organism on the planet if not the universe, however man does come to KNOW things. Yes, man really doesn't know what electricity is and why it is here but we have come to learn much about it,how it works, and how to use it to some minuscule degree-give some credit where it's do! Also, even though no one person on this site may know every answer to every question ever asked, some people do have some experience in some areas. I do agree that mankind uses much more stupidity and not enough of the potential capability that we have. I also concur that much of it is do to fear/insecurities, I would add.... laziness, arrogance and also lusts dumbing mankind down.
