Why do some parents have such horrible style?

I understand that parents are older but it is no excuse for the to wear clothes from the 1970s. And if they complain about comfort there is clothes that are stylish and are comfy. If there fat there is nice clothes they make for over weight people. They also make comfy high heels for every day occasions that don't make your feet swell up. So can someone tell me why some parents do not have style at all what so ever.....
