Double Slit Experiment's Seemingly Unnoticed Ramifications?

It seems to me that in the Double Slit Experiment, most physicists and other sources seem to not think of certain possible explanations for the *mysterious* results. After all, in the double slit experiment, can't the apparatus which detects the atom/electron/photon be thought of as a slit besides the ones in the barrier? Doesn't any body ever think of possibly the fact that the energy emission of electrons to create new photons causes the transformation into either a wave or particle state? Could there even be the slightly more metaphysical theory that for some reason photons and other measurement tool simply cannot record/observe the transition from wave to particle for some reason, making it seem as though the particle never became a wave *because* of the observation, when really it just is undetected by current technology? Could the particle possibly absorb energy from the barrier, or other things around it in the experiment, as its shot at the slit, making it so that it can turn that energy into mass, and at the other side of the slit, on the screen, seem to be smeared out into interference pattern because it literally added more mass to itself, and the measurement device disables this energy absorption process?
