How do I get the person the forgive me?

okay so I was talking to my guy friend and lately he ONLY texts me when he's down and I try and be there for him but its always about the same thing over and over every time. So i texted him a couple days ago and he said that he's sad for no reason a lot and I didn't really know how to comfort him and then he said something about how girls reject him a lot and I said "girls reject you because you come on too strong and dont wait long enough before you ask them out." and he got really mad and now he wont talk to me and I guess that was kind of bitchy but I didnt think at the time. I've tried apologizing but he doesnt respond what can I do I dont want to lose a friend? :(
